Traditional project management processes use a “waterfall” approach. This system usually keeps the client and the contractor at arm’s length, requiring the client to sign–off on deliverables at the end of a project or at the end of specific stages, called “gates”. There is an unnecessary and significant increase in project work and risk as a result. Waterfall project management processes grew out of construction projects for which they are great; they are not as useful for digital projects like web development, software or creative processes because they are rigid for both the client and the contractor.
At Redcentaur, we favour a more flexible and agile process. That means you become a core part of the project delivery team, involved throughout the project, setting priorities and acting as “the voice of the customer”. In this approach, you have a role in the project’s development and are responsible for setting and changing priorities during each iteration of progress. As a result, you can change deliverables throughout the project to ensure that the end product meets your needs and objectives.
Our collaborative approach to project management requires a partnership between you and us, working effectively to develop the product that works for you. It reduces the risks associated with the Waterfall process but increases the potential for scope creep, which everyone works to minimise.
We believe that by working together on a project, we can deliver the applications you need and help your business succeed.
